Hidden within the Space Invaders climbing wall at PICA during Kinesphere there was a secret 3D video work, CLIMB ART: institutions, showing the artist attempting to scale various local art institutions. In the video she pivots up the iconic concrete staircase of the Art Gallery of Western Australia; the façade of the CIA Studios; the Curtin School of Art and Design where she studied and the John Curtin Art Gallery nearby; the Fremantle Arts Centre where she works, through to the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts where the work was shown. It was only with an act of physical exertions, reaching and expanding one’s kinesphere, that the viewer was rewarded with a truly physical 3D experience.
