Suspension is a screen-based exhibition referencing the notion of ‘suspended disbelief’ and the constructed realities possible within screen space. The videos employ techniques of green-screening, time remapping, rotoscope animation, infra-red vision and video collage to reflect upon the inherent nature of digital media as non-linear, hyper-visual, layered and pliable. This collection of works dilate time and suspend our disbelief, holding viewers in moments that are wondrous, horrifying, hypnotic and magical. Curated by Erin Coates.
